Child Rescue

Fawn Brents is on the advisory board and is actively engaged in the ministry of Child Rescue in Santa Cruz, Del Quiche, Guatemala.

OUR MISSION

Child Rescue provides refuge and shelter for needy, abandoned and orphaned children, meeting physical and spiritual needs. The ministry has established Casa De Mi Padre (My Father’s House) children’s home. We provide:

  • Hope
  • Stability
  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Shelter
  • Family
  • Schooling and biblical instruction
  • Living examples of God’s love

Although the country is ecologically beautiful, poverty is widespread. Illiteracy, infant mortality, and malnutrition are among the highest in Central America, while life expectancy is the lowest. The Quiche people, who primarily populate the area, are an indigenous group with limited education and resources. The population of the city of Santa Cruz is about 50,000 and Casa De Mi Padre is the only orphanage.
